Help Us By Participating In Our Research
Our research relies on the participation of a variety of individuals who have experienced trauma or the death of a loved one. Most of our studies include people who have experienced these difficult events and are currently coping well, as well as those who are currently experiencing difficulties.
Participation in research can have a number of advantages. Firstly, most research participation begins with an assessment by a psychologist. The psychologist is then able to discuss potential treatment options with you if a need for treatment is indicated. Secondly, at the completion of your participation you will have an opportunity to discuss the background and the aims of the research with the researcher. This gives you the chance to learn more about reactions to trauma and loss, and about how these reactions are studied. Finally, because our research helps increase the international community’s understanding of both posttraumatic stress and complicated grief reactions, your participation gives you the opportunity to help others who may experience similar events in the future.
Please note that research participation requires a high level of proficiency in English. In addition, we will confirm on the phone that you meet certain criteria for inclusion in the different studies available.
